Week of April 1st The female nominee from Girls’ Track and Field is distance star, junior Sam Martin. Sam set the tone for her team’s triangular meet win Tuesday by leading off the 4×800 relay winners with an excellent split time of 2:42.0. Sam also won the 1600 in a very fast early season time

Boys’ track falls to Highland amid some strong performances

Boys’ track and field fell to visiting NCC rival Highland on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, scoring 40 points to the Trojan’s 92. The Kougars took three events:  Colton Wright continued his tear in the 300m hurdles, posting a PR 41.30 and another 2 second margin of victory.  Wright also added a PR high jump effort

Boys’ track and field places fourth at Hobart Invitational

The boys’ track and field team placed fourth out of eight teams at Hobart’s 49th annual “Little Five” meet on Saturday, April 13, 2019 with 60 points.  South Bend St. Joseph won with 158, followed by Boone Grove with 137, and Hobart with 136.  En route, KV athletes set several season or career best performances.

Boys’ track and field falls to Munster

Boys’ track and field team produced several good efforts but fell short to Munster 80 to 52.   Two KV athletes topped the field in two events each, both with personal best efforts:  Cameron Sheehy won the 1600m (4:53.53) and 800m (2:14.93) and Colton Wright won the 300m hurdles (42.74) and high jump (5′ 10″). KV boys’ track and field defeated host Pioneer and opponent Twin Lakes in their outdoor season opener 89 to 45 to 24.  En route, KV took the top place in nine events of sixteen events. The Kougar’s dominance was most evident in the distance events, where they swept the top three places in three events:

Both genders will open the outdoor 2019 track and field season on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in a three-way meet versus host Pioneer High School and Twin Lakes High School.  Pioneer Junior Senior High School is located at 417 S. Chicago Street (Hwy 35) in Royal Center, IN 46978. Meet time is set for 5:00
