The Kougars traveled to Fountain Central for a talent filled Invite.
1S- Cole Brzezinski faced the toughest singles player of the tournament in the first round from West Vigo. Cole lost 6-7(3-7), 3-6. These 2 sets took 2 hours. Cole went on to lose in the consolation to South Putnam for 4th place.
2S- Jake Boissy lost to Fountain Central 0-6, 0-6. But came back in the consolation to beat SP 8-6 for 3rd place.
3S- Conner Biernat was the HIGHLIGHT of the day. He played SP in the first round winning big 6-2, 7-5. In the Championship round Conner faced a great player who was picked to win that position from WV. Conner was down 1-6 and 0-1 when he turned the match completely around and won the second set 6-2. In the super tie breaker third set Conner held off 3 match points from WV at 6-9 to win the third 13-11. 1-6, 6-2, 13-11 for FIRST PLACE.
1D- Nolan McKim & Tyler Martin drew the favorites to win FC first round and had what might be the most exciting match of the season. All four players were actually diving for balls but when it was done KV lost 6-4, 1-6, 7-10. These two went on to beat SP in the consolation for 3rd place. McKim & Martin were awarded medals for Best Attitude of the Invite.
2D- Jeb Boissy & Colton Pribyl faced off against SP in the first round losing 0-6, 2-6. They played well but SP was just too much. They went on to lose to WV in the consolation for 4th place.
