Griffith tops KV in 7 innings

Griffith traveled to KV on Tuesday afternoon to take on the host Kougars who eventually lost 2-12.  Zach Fox started pitching for the Kougars and did a good job giving up 4 runs (2 earned) through 5 innings.  Griffith hitters were too much for the Kougars as they scored 8 more times in the final

Kougars lose to Griffith in 5 innings

On Monday afternoon the Kougars traveled to Griffith to play.  Unfortunately for the Kougars Griffith was ready to play beating them 10-0 in 5 innings.  Michael Popp had the only hit for the Kougars which was a double in the left center gap.  The Kougars will host Griffith on Tuesday April 7th at 5pm.

Kougars beat Rensselaer in 8 innings

On Saturday April 4 the host Kougars beat Rensselaer 13-12 in 8 innings. The Kougars started the game by giving up 7 runs to Rensselaer in the first inning but the Kougars fought back tying the game in the 7th inning with a 7 run inning.  In the 8th inning Zach Fox led off the

KV Girls’ Track and Field Strong Runner-Up at Battle of Borders: Jungels, Kent and Mehay Win Individual Golds

KV brought home the 2nd place runner-up trophy from today’s Battle of the Borders Meet at Thornridge HS in Illinois.  Battling wind and fine teams, KV showed once again its fine depth to score 235 points, in the combined varsity and JV meet.  Munster-377, Thornridge-169, Lowell-115, Eisenhower-77 and Souhland Prep-21, rounded out the strong field. 

Boys’ track and field takes first win of season

KV fought visiting Twin Lakes to a 22 point margin of victory, Thursday, April 2, 2015.  Final score was 77 to 55. Several athletes performed in their first high school track and field meet, including freshman stand out Gavin Tillema, who co-leader in KV scoring by winning two events (110m hurdles and 300m hurdles) and contributing

Athlete of the Week -March 14th-21st

The Female Athlete of the Week is Jr. track and field sensation, Jenna Jungels.  At the Hoosier State Relays (HSR)Championships (indoor state meet) on 3-21-15, Jenna became KV’s first state champion in many years by winning the long jump with a tremendous jump of 19′-2 1/4″, to top the best jumpers state-wide.  Her 10 pts.
