boys' track and field · Boys’ track and field places third in close finish at Gene Edmonds

Kankakee Valley High School boys’ track and field team placed third in the Gene Edmonds Relays at Rensselaer Central High School on Friday, April 30, 2021.  Twin Lakes won with 103 points, followed by Hanover Central with 99, and the Kougars with 92, in the eight team field.

“We held our own in the field events, and placed in the top three or four of every relay if we didn’t win it,” explained Coach Adams, “but Twin Lakes had the depth to take us.  We were competitive, but we are still looking for our next performance jump.”

Capturing first for KV:

3200m relay — Ethan Ehrhardt, Josiah Johnson, Adam Collard, and Justin Hoffman;

Distance medley relay — Ben Herz, Jack Lamka, Jacob Sandlin, Justin Hoffman;

Shuttle hurdle relay — Adam Collard, Jacob Sandlin, Ben Herz, Josiah Johnson;

Pole vault — Bryce Brodner and Xavier De La Paz Marino;

1600m relay — Collard, Hoffman, Herz, Johnson (2nd — SB);

Frosh-soph distance medley relay — Luke Briston, Cameron Anderson, Brock Martin, Ehrhardt (3rd);

Frosh-soph 400m relay — Logan Myers, Brodner, Jack Lamka, Markus Ritchie (3rd);

Varsity 400m relay — Anderson, Crispin Lamka, Logan Myers, Johnson (3rd);

Varsity sprint medley relay — Jack Lamka, Ritchie, Brodner, Collard (3rd);

Boys’ track and field faces NCC rivals this week, facing Hobart at Lowell in a double dual and hosting Highland at home on Thursday.
