Kougars News · Girls’ Cross Country Runs Very Well at Bob Thomas Invite

Facing several challenges on Saturday at The Bob Thomas Invite, the Lady Kougar Cross Country team performed very well in the Black Divison. Freshman Emma Bell again led the way, running an excellent time of 20:23, good for 2nd and another medal finish for Bell, who continues to show she is among the very best runners in the area! Senior Halle Frieden earned the 14th place ribbon, running a strong time of 22:42. Junior Em Wilson had a very important 21st place in 23:57, with Liv Sheehy continuing her fine season, placing 31st in 25:34. Junior Tay Anderson, just back from injury, had a critical performance, placing a HUGE 35th  in a personal record (PR) time of 26:26, as her team’s #5 scorer, sealing their very fine 4th place, out of 9 teams, finish with 100 points. Jade McDonald was right behind Anderson in 37th in 26:33, Juliet Starr hung tough in 54th in 29:21 and Sami Kristoff got a meet in under her belt, placing 60th in 31:46. Great job, ladies ! Head Coach Lane Lewallen: “We did very well, Scooter (Bell), continues to shine with Halle, Em and Liv running very well as usual. Jade, Juliet and Sami continue to make strides, and perhaps our most important runner today was Tay, just back from injury, she was my #5 with a PR time, and we were very happy for her! I’m thrilled with our 4th place team finish ! I’m the rare crazy man cross coach that keeps track of wins and losses, and we are now 15-14, with the Adams Invite title, a terrific record in the competitive invites we are in !” Go Kougs!!
