Boys Varsity Cross Country · Boys’ cross country places in top third at Lowell

The boys’ cross country team placed 7th out of 21 complete teams in Lowell’s Bob Thomas Invitational on Saturday, September 14, 2019.  The Kougars placed 8th last year.

Ethan Tillema led the KV front runners, medaling with a 13th place finish in 16:53.8.  The time marked two meets in a row with PR performances for the senior.  Tillema was followed by Justin Hoffman in 17:08 (26th place), and Micah Adams in 17:20 (32nd place).  Trent Thomas (18:23) and Adam Collard (19:03) rounded out the scoring five for KV.

“Our training cycle perennially sees a slight slow down in times at this meet,” explained Coach Tim Adams.  “This year was no exception.  Our legs were a bit heavy, though mentally I think we raced well.  Two freshmen, Luke Bristol and Josh Danford, set PRs today, placing them in the varsity top 7.”

The cross country team races next Saturday at the New Prairie Invitational.
