Thank you for attending our camp this summer. We (the coaching staff and high school athletes) had a great time getting to know you (your daughters).
Although it has been an oddly cool, wet, and foggy week, we have been able to enjoy camp, learn and develop as soccer players. Throughout camp, we have focused on fundamental soccer skills, such as: passing using the inside of our feet, avoiding kicking with our toes, putting the correct weight behind our passing and shooting (not too hard or too soft), agility, footwork (dribbling, change of direction, etc.), first touch (controlling the ball whether it is on the ground or in the air), and speed.
Most of the drills that we have done at camp are so simple that you could do them at home either by yourself or with one other person. Please continue to practice and improve your soccer skills throughout the summer. The Women’s World Cup is currently being played in France. A lot of the games are being televised throughout the day. Turn it on and watch a game or two. It is surprising how much you can learn simply by watching quality soccer.
Check out our game schedule and come out and watch your favorite highschooler! Want to get in on the action? Sign up to be a ball girl for a game or two! Ball Girls get into the games for free and get to interact with the athletes throughout the game. To sign up for a game, please go to the google form.
On this form, I will also be posting some pictures that we took during camp!
Thanks again for coming to soccer camp this year! We hope that you learned new skills, improved on your fundamentals, made new friends, and had fun.
