The female athlete of the week for Oct 1st thru 6th is Junior volleyball player Courtney Sizemore. After coming back from an injury Courtney led the Kougars to their only victory that week. She had 2 Aces, 6 Kills, 2 Solo Blocks , 5 Serve receptions and 7 digs. Courtney has been a
key player for the Kougars all season long. Congratulations Courtney!
The male athlete of the week was senior football player Alex Gronkiewicz! Alex was all over the field against Munster! He led the team in tackles and was one of the bright spots on offense. Alex’s name was said over and over again by the announcer for being involved with plays on the field. Congratulations Alex!
The female athlete of the week for Oct. 8th- 12th is cross country runner Taylor Miller. In her first ever season of cross country, running in her first ever cross country sectional, she led her team to another regional qualification by earning the 9th place ribbon in a time of 22:21.75. She led her team to a 3rd place finish, and help KV qualify for their tenth regional in twelve seasons. Her leadership, talent, work ethic and terrific positive attitude has really turned this season around for the Lady Kougars. Congratulations Taylor!
The male athletes of the week were tennis players Nolan McKim, Garrett Brewster and cross country runner Cameron Sheehy. Nolan and Garrett were named sectional champions and lost in the IHSAA tennis regional championship. The two were just one win away from making it to state! Nolan and Garrett recored the best record know to date in the #1 doubles spot. Congratulations Nolan and Garrett! Cameron Sheehy qualified for Semi-State in the IHSAA cross country tournament. Cameron was just ten places short of making it to the state meet. Cameron really started to excel at the end of the season and represented our school well at the regionals and semi-state. Congratulations Cameron.
