Sorry it has been a couple of weeks but we do have several kids that have earned the right to be recognized.
The female athlete of the week for Sept. 10th is freshman volleyball player Lexi Broyles. Lexi had 3 Aces, 22 Kills and 7 Solo Blocks with a team record of 2-1 for the week. Lexi has continued to improve throughout the season and has been a valuable asset to the team this season. Congratulations Lexi!
The Male athlete of the week for Sept. 10th is junior cross country runner Micah Adams.
Micah placed 13th overallout of 194 runners in the AA division of the New Prairie Invitational in a time of 17:42, tied for his career second best. Scoring as KV’s second runner on the day, Adams helped the Kougars to a 4th place team finish, their highest in decades. Congratulations Micah!
The female athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 17th is cross country runner Sam Martin. Sam blasted a season-best time, by roughly 30 seconds, at Saturday’s huge Culver Invitational, leading her team to an outstanding 8th place finish/19 scoring teams. She earned the 17th place medal/out of 158 runners with her excellent time of 21:12.0. The Kougars are 27-17 the past two weeks in their biggest meets, defeating some large schools and excellent teams in the process. Congratulations, Sam!
The male athlete of the week for Sept. 17th is junior cross country runner EthanTillema. Ethan is a first year cross country runner, and continues to strengthen the boys’
team.Leap frogging back and forth among the top four runners, Ethan narrowly edged out his teammates on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Culver Military Academy Invitational to take 12th place out of 152 runners in 17:18, about 5 seconds off of his personal best. Ethan’s contributions this season have helped KV place on the average four places higher. Congratulations Ethan!
