Kankakee Valley should have a new football coach hired at the July 9th school board meeting. Former NFL player and KV graduate James Broyles will be recommended to the school board for approval at that meeting. Broyles was an Indiana North All-Star and then went on to play in the Big Ten at Indiana University for Coach Bill Mallory. Broyles then went on to play in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Green Bay Pakers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Broyles has never been too far removed from coaching, after his tenure in the NFL he returned home to coach in the area. He has coached both boys and girls basketball in the DeMotte area and has been working either at Hobart High School with his college friend Craig Osika, or right here in the Valley with our offensive linemen. Coach Broyles wants to bring the fun back to Kougar football! Get ready for some energy and excitement from this Kougar Alum!
Coach Broyles would like to have a players meeting at 4:30 on Monday July 9th to discuss the plans for the upcoming season. Right now the plan is to stick close to the current schedule that has been given to the players. We have a short time to get ready for the upcoming season so we need all players to attend and get ready for the upcoming season.
Kougar Strong! Go Kougars!
