KV Football hosted their Youth Camp this week. The camp consisted of 3 days. Each camper was able to experience what it’s like to be a Kougar Football player throughout those 3 days by performing many of the same drills that we use at the high school level, all focused on the fundamentals of each position in football.
Monday was offensive day and Tuesday was defensive day. Each player was able to do position specific drills led by members of the High School Coaching staff along with several of the High School players who volunteered their time. These drills focused on the fundamentals necessary to be a successful football player. Campers were also instructed on proper tackling technique in order to ensure player safety.
On the last day of camp, the campers were able to get a taste of what a Friday Night atmosphere at Fred Jones Field is like. The campers walked through the entire locker room area and were able to change into their “uniforms” in our varsity locker room. Then the campers were able to take the field to our Kougar Fight Song before beginning our pre game drills. Once our warm up and drills were completed, the campers were able to play a game on Fred Jones Field!
Thank you to all the coaches and players who helped each day. It was a very special week for our campers, and I look forward to seeing this camp grow each year. The future is bright in the Valley! #KougarNation #ONETEAM
