Girls Middle School Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · KVHS Girls’ Run at Culver; MS Cross Country Runners Shine at Valpo Invite; MS Teams Excel at Own Invite, Girls’ Win, Boys’ Take 2nd


Crystal Benitez led KV’s three varsity girls at Saturday’s Culver Invite with a 5K time of 24:00.  Kaila Moskalick ran a 25:08 and Kailee VanNieulande a 28:49 on the picturesque course.  The Lady Kougar Cross Country team is looking to be healthy, fit and fast for the NCC meet this Saturday at Lowell.  In last week’s MS meet KV did awesome!  Top 15 runners earned medals.  Sam Martin-10th in 13:07, Abby Robinson-12th in 13:38 and Shelby Flick-16th in 13:54 were the 8th grade girls leaders.  Dean Schmidt-9th in 11:18 and Micah Adams-12th in 11:32 earned medals at the prestigious event, Adams for the 3rd straight year. Alexis Culbreth led the 7th grade girls with a 29th place in 8:09, distances varied from class to class, 8th graders running 1.8 miles.  Taylor DeBoard was 42nd in 10:13.  Noah Fry medaled for the 7th grade boys, taking 9th in a time of 8:17 for the 1.2 mile course. Austin Garrison was 38th in 9:01.  The 6th grade girls were 4th as a team with a fine score of 109 pts.  Blythe Campbell continued her terrific season with the 6th place medal in a time of an estimated sub 9:00 (times left off final results for the top 7 places.)  Juliana Barlog-16th in 9:40, Emilee Wilson-18th in 9:45, Elise Kasper-22nd in 9:50 and Hailey Hunt-47th in 11:02 rounded out KV’s scoring with strong runs.  The 6th grade boys also performed brilliantly, taking 3rd as a team with 79 points.  Trent Gideon-10th in 9:06, Dezmyn Abbring-11th in 9:08 and Tommy Jones- 12th in 9:09, all medaled and packed nicely.  Ayden Allen was 18th in 9:18 and Elliot Cates was 28th in 9:34 to score for this fine team.
