Despite both genders losing to Lowell last night, the KVMS cross country teams all ran hard and competed through the end of their races. For the ladies, they were led by 6th grader Blythe Campbell’s 6th place in a fine time of 13:27. Abby Robinson was 7th in 13:45 with 8th grade mate Sam Martin 8th in 13:47. Shelby Flick-11th in 14:18, and Juliana Barlog-12th in 14:19 battled each other to the end. Emilee Wilson was a strong 14th in 14:27, with Taylor DeBoard-19th in 15:19 and Jaclyn Dutton-20th in 15:26. The boys were led by Dean Schmidt’s 2nd in a very fast 11:27, with fellow 8th grader Micah Adams-3rd in 11:33. Noah Fry was 7th in 12:25, with 6th grader Justin Hoffman-8th in 12:30. Tommy Jones was 13th in 13:14, with 6th grade mates Trent Gideon-14th in 13:25, Ayden Allen-15th in 13:35 and Dezmyn Abbring-16th in 13:41. Lowell edged KV in the boys’ race 25-33, with the low score the goal in cross country. Austin Garrison-19th in 14:00 and Trent Thomas-20th in 14:08, also finished in the top 20 for KVMS. Both the MS and HS teams from KV compete at the Culver Academies Invitational this Saturday.
