Kougars News · KVMS Cross Teams Run Well at Rensselaer Invite


At Saturday’s huge RCMS Invite, KVMS had many fine runs.  The 6th grade boys were an outstanding 2nd as a team with 73 pts. defeating many fine teams in the process.  Top 20 performers received medals, 21-50 earned ribbons.  (Some of the places reflect non-scoring teams.)  Justin Hoffman was 9th in an excellent time of 12:29, followed closely by Aiden Allen-11th in 12:37, Tommy Jones-12th in 12:38, Trent Gideon-20th in 13:19 and Dezmyn Abbring-21st in 13:32.  Great job boys!  The 6th grade girls were a very strong 8th with 181 pts. paced by Blythe Campbell’s very fast time of 13:28, good for 10th place.  Juliana Barlog-14th in 13:50 and Emilee Wilson-24th in 14:18 also ran very well.  Breanna Ruvalcaba-65th and Lily Sanchez-68th, rounded out the scoring.  The 7th grade boys’ were 13th, paced by Ty Niewoehner’s blistering time of 11:22, good for 7th place!  Austin Garrison  was 34th in 12:43, with Aiden Cates-74th, Colin Wheeler-88th and Logan Manns-89th also performing for KV.  The 7th grade girls were an excellent 8th place with 198 pts., led by Alexis Culbreth’s fine time of 13:25, good for 16th place.  Taylor DeBoard was 24th in 14:12, Jaclyn Dutton-42nd in 15:03, Kalei Cave was 49th in 15:36 and Mya Howard was 67th place.  Nice work, ladies! The 8th grade boys were 13th led by Micah Adams’ 19th place in 11:33.  Dean Schmidt was close behind in 22nd with a fine time of 11:36.  Trenton Thomas-82nd, Zach Meadows-88th and Sam Evans-94th also scored for KV.  The 8th grade girls were led by Sam Martin-22nd in 12:53, Abby Robinson-28th in 13:19 and Shelby Flick-36th in 13:26, to give this fine group even more ribbons from today’s meet.  Keep up the great work, KVMS CC!!
