Game Recap
The Kougars took on sectional foe Crown Point Thursday night, in a game that had major post season implications. The Lady Bulldogs have knocked the Kougars out of the sectional tournament each of the last 3 years. The Kougars got off to a good start with 3 very good chances in the first 14 minutes of the game that included a diving save by CP’s Meghan Morason on Raegan Walther’s shot. The first half ended scoreless for each team. The Kougars tallied the only goal of the game at the 50 minute mark when Abby Klemp’s cross into the box was dropped by the keeper, and Walther was there to knock it into the goal from inside the six yard box. The Lady Bulldogs rallied, but the Kougar defense stood stout, preserving the shutout. Mackenzie DeMars had 9 saves in goal for the Kougars who out shot the Bulldogs 13-12 on the night. The Kougars host Wheeler this Saturday with the JV game bright and early at 8:30 AM with the Varsity following at 9:30 AM. Senior night for the Kougars is Tuesday September 30th. We hope that you can all come out to see our last two home games.
